Up for sale is a nice Stanley #4 type 9 Hand Plane. This one has a smooth sole. It has the 2 pat.dates behind the frog. and lower arch and no frog adj. feature. The Japanning was a little spotty on it so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's original factory recipe and baked it 5 times. I have flattened the sole and sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. The rosewood tote and knob are in great shape with no cracks or major marks or chips. The iron has good length. There is one Pat. date on the lateral adj. lever as you will see on a lot of the type 9 planes. This plane is ready to go to work in your shop.
